Japanese women are breaking their silence about sexual abuse and harassment and joining the #MeToo movement

Things are better, yes, but that doesn't mean that they're good. Acknowledging that we are still in a bad, unsustainable state of living is not fear mongering and a majority of the people in these relevant industries aren't doing so either. As a matter of fact, the only time I can think of pure fear mongering or "unrelated, hard to implement, massively overreaching 'solutions' " is when it's a group of irrelevant people trying to push for the cause. People who study this for a living, scientists, even government officials rarely fear monger with what they say considering all the statements they release are purely backed up by statistics and peer reviewed research. If you're reading what they're saying and you think they're fear mongering in that scenario (as I was assuming you just haven't seen official research and statements made on these things), then I don't know what to tell ya there. I can also definitely guarantee you that the relevant people in these fields are actually finding applicable and efficient solutions, not "fear mongering ... for us". The real issues are when the people in charge refuse to take these things to heart because they're far more concerned about the short term than the long term.

And to be on topic, the person above us (as well as the other posters) were definitely not fear mongering - they were simply stating facts.
