Japan's Anime Industry Worth Record $19B, Driven by Streaming and Exports

I use TunnelBear

I don't use it for anything heavy weight, mostly just region changes for streaming movies/sport/etc actually. I have not noticed the speed issues this review mentions, but I have a pretty solid connection at my end too so that probably helps.

Yearly pricing makes it $5 a month which is cheap enough to be OK for my needs.

Some services can actually just let you use the free version too. Change region, login/start the stream, then turn off the vpn. No bandwidth use. CR does this on the web interface at least, not sure about the app.

Others like the BBC iPlayer do regular heartbeat checks so need to stay connected and will chew the free bandwidth fast.
