JaQaun Lyle has quit the Ohio State team

I know this is being a homer but I actually don't hate this at all. Lyle was a ball-dominant PG that couldn't shoot and was a minus defender.

It definitely hurts the team in the short-run but I think the team is much better with CJ Jackson as the starting PG anyway. This also gives Beverly more opportunities to get minutes which I think is a net positive since he apparently has an extremely good outside jumper (something we desperately need).

I don't hate OSU's starting lineup for next year (CJ Jackson, Kam Williams, KBD, Jae'sean Tate, Kaleb Wesson) outside of Kam at the SG spot. He struggled as a starter last year and I think he's a much better player when he can be the offensive spark coming off the bench.

The current projected bench Micah Potter, Derek Funderburk, Andre Wesson and Braxton Beverly has a shot to be quite good offensively but probably atrocious defensively.

Regardless of Lyle, the 2017-18 season was always 100% coming down to if KBD has healed from his injury and could be the leader of the team. That and how quickly Wesson and Funderburk get into the fold.

I still expect OSU to be slightly better than last year but at best a bubble team.
