Jason Isbell Says He'll Donate 'Everything I've Made' Off Morgan Wallen's Latest Album to NAACP

Actually yes, my friends and I do use it on occasion, we're all Jewish. We understand the weight behind the word, the history, it's contexts, and we own that by using it for ourselves. Someone outside of this community could never truly understand that weight.

For that reason, I'll never use the N-word. Because I can't begin to imagine and truly understand the depth of complex historical and contemporary emotions and gravity around the word. But someone who lives it and experiences absolutely has a right to own it. Experience is shaped by demographics, I'll never know what it's like to have the N-word yelled at me, or be catcalled as a woman walking down the street and fear for my safety. So I accept the things that are not for me and own the things that are.
