I just don’t see any other option. Sure you can say “don’t join the racists”. But if you don’t, then what do you have? What are you going to do if you’re a talented young black man with hoop dreams. Join some other league? What if you have business sense and drive? Start your own corporation? Jay Z did that. Somewhere along the way you’re going to have to deal with bad people. That’s what jay z is doing. Oprah has done it. Mlk is famous for making compromises. Every successful black entrepreneur has made deals with country club types, whether they wanted to or not.
