Jayne quits social media (Includes twitlonger)

Jayne could learn a little from this too.

The dude was genuinely one of the best things to happen to T2/T3 with community organizing, incredibly important for the competitive community. He obviously poured a lot of passion and effort into building it, coordinating tournaments, doing VOD reviews, etc. The dude was driven.

But as much as he dislikes the copypasta twitch hivemind, he tried to use that very tool to his own advantage, and it turned on him in the end. Cultivating a smugly arrogant online persona may farm LULs when epically burning some gold player in a VOD review, but appealing to the edgelords who live vicariously through a streamer talking shit and cutting people down is a sword that cuts both ways. The bigger he got, the more his stream fed on that type of thing.

But then when his team started to fall apart, and his aggrandizing began to backfire, the same monster he fed turned on him-- who could have guessed?

Obviously the death threats and personal attacks are beyond unacceptable. I only hope he also takes a look at how he interacted with the public, and the personality he crafted, and how that may have worsened things for him.
