[JC] tmjc teachers and culture

hi I take math econs n hist so I'll help answer some of ur questions.

econs: notes for econs are damn lengthy so sometimes you'll have to skim through the notes by yourself for the important points, also one of the largest departments in sch so it depends on which teacher you get but most of them are generally good teachers so don't be too worried about which teacher you get. vv content heavy also so make sure not to snowball your work if you do end up taking econs cos the lectures n tuts do go by q quickly and the pace q fast imo

math: math dept is one of the best imo, again it depends on which teacher you get but generally most of them r good. notes are very concise and easy to read so big big plus point for me. lectures n tuts also go at a perfect pace so another plus point.

hist: vvv content heavy and there's also alot alot alot of notes, sometimes quite hard to revise but if you revise consistently shld be ok, altho the jump from o's to a's for hist is q big. teachers hais this one abit hit or miss, some teachers are better than others( again just my personal opinion). but all the teachers r kind and friendly people and very receptive to feedback so don't worry too much also.

teachers are very open to consults and even often encourage us to go for them if we're struggling.sch culture wise I wld say there's q a fair mix of muggers and slackers just like every jc. but I wld say generally almost everyone is very kind and friendly, so it's very easy to make friends with almost anyone. its a very welcoming and accepting sch and it's quite easy to fit in imo. we also have alot of study spots around sch and there's air con in almost every class(altho cannot on right now cos covid)

overall I think tm is q a chill jc where there isn't too much pressure and you can still enjoy yourself while mugging for a's. deffo don't regret coming here at all, feel free to pm me if you have any further qs!
