Jeff talks the toxicity problem in the newest developer update

That's funny. Safe space? Jeff is asking the community to man up and look inwards, and you think this is him talking about rainbows and sunflowers and shit? Guarantee if he wasn't being the face of a company (for these segments), then he wouldn't have been so gently polite. The real special wallflowers are the ones who have such enlarged egos that they can't accept other peoples' desires as legitimate.

People play comp for loads of reasons. Some people want to get better, some want a higher number to boast, some want a golden wep, some want to one-trick Sym. The self-assured, confident, smart thing to do is to accept this, and focus on your goal instead of looking outwards, assuming other people have it out for you. Actually they do not. They don't even care about you, because they have their own goals too. You think shouting at Torb mains or getting them banned is going to make you a better player? The people getting triggered into a frenzy in comp are those who are allowing themselves to believe they're the only person who's figured it all out. It's a juvenile fantasy, and there's nothing more pitiful on the OW ladder.

Let it all go, stay happy, and if you have a goal, focus on it. Nobody else is in charge of you or your future. That's the basis of Jeff's message - that it's up to us to admit to ourselves why we behave like we do, and to question why we play this game.
