JerryRigEverything reveals a ridiculous flaw in a $100 crowdfunded smart lock

Made in China, by a contract manufacturer (Not from a xenophobic standpoint, just speaking from experience in contract manufacturing). There's not going to be a Tapplock factory with steady jobs somewhere in China, barring some meteoric success their production will be batches contracted out to hired guns. The most important thing to know about Chinese contract manufacturing is they build to the spec sheet, they are not your engineers unless you specifically pay for that. I'm 100% sure everyone on that production line knew this was a fatal flaw, but they are not paid to care. It's beneficial for them because there's a big retooling fee to move and guess who needs to roll out v2 ASAP?
