BUT she never implied that the statement was from the standpoint of economics. She may well be saying all this in reference to the same thing I'm referring to. Economics don't exist either. Again, they are a convenient idea people created. It may well be true that the concept has existed since early mankind, that doesn't make it any more REAL. The thing is, what you are referring to as the "real" world is not real. What I am suggesting isn't a thought experiment. Value is a man made idea which does not EXIST so everything associated with its measurement is the thought experiment because money only exists as a thought.

I'm not arguing that the current system isn't convenient. Lugging around all the tangible items one should wish to barter would be a hassle, but money is an abstraction and inflation is an idea which further abstracts an already abstract construct.
