Has Jim Benning Made Any "Wrong" Trades

People have to understand that a draft pick is basically a gamble, just like a prospect is. There is a chance that the pick will turn out to be a good asset for you after a certain amount of time. And non of this is constant, there are so many factors, theses scouts spend their entire lives watching hockey and taking detailed notes over the years and they know these factors so much better than we do, so like with the vey trade, it was trading a 2nd round pick in a weak draft for a player that they saw they could give a change to succeed and they did, and I bet they thought that he had more, or as much, chance of succeeding as that 2nd round pick but the best part for them was that they wouldn't have to wait 3-5 years to see how it panned out, they could see in the next 1-3 years. So I mean its easy for us to sit here and say, "2nd or vey was bad trade so ezz to see that, geez, dumb Benning" but Benning and his staff knew that it wasn't a guarantee that vey would succeed, they probably gave him a 20% chance of him turning into someone like Bonino or richardson that they could have on the 3rd line. I could go on and on here, but Benning is here to make gambles, like everyone in hockey is, but the thing about chance is that you cant judge so early on, you have to wait years because its a gaurenteed that there are going to be busts that he picks in the 1st round and onwards, lets just be patient on not a bunch of keyboard warriors acting like we've really seen these prospects enough to know which one is good or bad [this rant doesn't really belong here but its something Ive wanted to say for a while seeing all these posts (here and on hfboards) about who we should be picking in the draft and all the comments about we would be so dumb if we picked ______ prospect]
