The Jim Phillips Press Conference

I genuinely think the SEC will take four ACC teams. 20 teams just makes a whole lot of sense for a final number, for one. Four divisions of five, you can play a nine game conference schedule and play everyone within three years. Four-team conference championship playoff.

FSU clearly adds the value. Clemson in its current run of form does as well. UNC and VT are better cultural and geographic fits than the last four additions to the conference, and bring plenty of value in their own right.

It's a long-term move that makes a lot of sense. The conference would maintain a large degree of geographic and cultural semblance, which is more than the rest of the power conferences are going to be able to claim.
