on one hand, RLM's nihilistic irreverence toward appeasing fans is one of my favorite things about the channel (in my head, i like to pretend Mike doesn't understand the internet and has never read a single internet comment re RLM); on the other hand, they really are fantastic content creators that deserve better exposure, marketing, and merch.

i feel like Jay (due to his social media presence) should secretly collaborate with a third party that makes "unofficial" merchandise for RLM, so they don't ever have to seem/feel like they are pandering. i've wanted to support their channel for years, but aside from dollar donations for these commentary tracks, i've never been compelled to buy their merch, as it all seems pretty generic and uninspired. i think the gang is too humble to have masturbatory self-referential in-jokes and memes on shirts and shit, but i think fans would love it.
