Jo Cox killed in politically motivated murder, trial hears | UK news

To everyone jumping to political analysis: this is just the opening of the prosecution's case at the start of the trial. We haven't even heard all of the (well, any) evidence yet. No facts have been established and a verdict hasn't been reached yet.

Can everyone please calm down a second before pushing an agenda (I'm referring to all of the ones put forward in this thread regardless of whether you're a leaver, remainer, or conspiracy theorist).

For all the talk of 'post truths' in the referendum and U.K. politics on this sub, there are an awful lot of people posting who seem to think they know absolutely everything about this before any trial has properly started so they can argue a political case.

And don't think for a second I'm defending what happened. Jo Cox's death was one of the most horrific things to happen this year and the person responsible certainly has to be brought to justice, but please, can you all just show a little patience and decorum before baying for blood and pointing fingers.

None of you would do this with any other trial and you'd probably make fun of or complain about people or the tabloids doing the same with anything else.

I understand this is probably the most important trial to take place this year (or even decade) and that people have strong feelings about this, but so many of you are sinking to a level I'd expect of the Daily fucking Mail.
