Joan Mir’s smooth recovery after a crash

Genuinely not trying to be helpful, but please don't tell them that. At least not like that. They've all heard that phrase many times before to the point that it's a cliche. It will sound like that movie trope where the overprotective mother is telling her 35 year old son who is living on his own to "remember to wash behind your ears and be careful around strangers".

I'm a huge proponent of not skimping on gear. But I've seen many times where a non-rider tells a rider something that the non-rider thinks is novel and interesting and the rider might be struggling not to roll their eyes.

I really do appreciate your concern for your friends safety though. Something you could try is saying something like "I saw this video about riding jeans, I had no idea they could make slide protective clothing that looked normal, I even talked to someone who has them and he said he wears them to work when he rides in" (I do that, so it's the truth now). Or even something like "I went down a rabbit hole on this Fort Nine youtube channel and saw really cool stuff about airbag jackets".
