I have a bit of an odd situation, would appreciate some help.

I am a part time employee in NYS. My employer is allowing anyone that doesn't feel comfortable working right now to stay home (zero hours per week), and will hold our job for us until we return. At any point I could ask for hours and get the same (or more) than I was getting before - they probably need all the help they can get. However, I can't put my family at risk and need to stay home. I am not sick, nor is anyone in my immediate family. (And we intend to keep it that way).

Everything I've read so far says that if my hours are cut by my employer, I am eligible. I am still employed but making no income by choice. Would I be able to get unemployment, or am I out of luck?
