Just thought of another reason that seems to be going on in the job market around here in recent years. I used to drive around for my job and would go inside many many places.
What I started noticing was when someone of a particular race would get into a hiring position, they'd only hire others that spoke the same language.
Hotel Fort Garry, Phillipinos bought it, now all the staff are Phillipino. They tried to keep a white security doorman to try and make it look like this isn't going on but inside, no white people, ok. Same thing at HSC. Everybody running around with those green outfits, all Phillipino. Totally with the cleaning staff. Go to Walmart, everyone at the checkout are Phillipino. Not one caucasian person. Any fast food drive thru, they're not going to be caucasian. Even this tire fixing place around here, the white guys sure got ousted in recent years.
Just generally around town, you don't really see any white people around anymore. Could be because I'm living in one of their parts of town, if you'd probably go south to the suburbs might be able to spot a white person somewhere. lol.
What happens is those foreign cultures are the only ones left with families and kids. So when they get in a hiring position they wanna help out their buddies who also have families. Those Phillipinos there, they look out for each other.
I recently had problems at a car dealer and the management guy was Phillipino. They're sure all "fake nice" about service when there's no problems but if there's a problem they're cold as ice and go, oh it's a financial part of the company, call them. *plonk. But you can bet 10 farms if I was a Phillipino, that guy woulda helped me right out. So those guys there are totally racist towards white people and you know it too. If you're of the same culture, they'll totally help you right out way more, and you know it.
In the States they have "Affirmative action (known as employment equity in Canada) is the policy of favoring members of a disadvantaged group who suffer from discrimination within a culture."
Years ago there'd be check boxes on application forms to let them know you weren't caucasian. That way it wouldn't be only a bunch of white people working there. Meanwhile these days, there's nothing for the opposite. So you can have a bunch of only Phillipinos as all the employees but you can't say a peep about it or you're "racist". Meanwhile, who's the racist that's only hiring people of all the same culture? Sounds like they're the racist these days. So if you're a white pizza delivering guy, this could be happening to you and that's probably also why nobody's calling.
Just today I happened to order some pizza, and guess what, he was from India. Those guys are just as bad too as the Phillipinos.
Look at the cabs, if you want somebody white, you know to call Spring. There will never be a white guy showing up if you call Duffy's or Unicity. Ok, totally racist the other way around towards white people but there are no "employment equity" laws for caucasians now is there.
And now I'm looking like a racist just for voicing my observations. But this pizza guy here is scratching his head wondering why. I don't know if he's white but there ya go. This is happening behind the scenes and if you're a white guy looking for a job, better just move to some Hutterite colony. lol. Downvote this all you want, I don't give a fuck.
