Job search is the most soul-sucking experience. Don't call me if you don't like the gap in my resume. Don't sigh during the phone call.

Oh man don't get me started. I am a fucking engineer. I moved here 2 years ago. Not to toot my horn, but 95% of the engineers out there don't have half of the skills I do. I am an electrical engineer, I can code using multiple languages, create websites, web-apps, work with databases, perform simulations...etc.

I get ENRAGED when I hear about old-timers getting frustrated about technology, and companies bringing instructors to teach them a specific software. And these people are fucking consultants. CONSULTANTS! They get paid six figures! yep..the ones who feel entitled to honk at you in their lexuses when you momentarily get in their way when you leave the parking lot...

Why can't I find a job, you ask? well because of the gap, and the FUCKING INSANE idea of requiring experience for entry-level jobs. The only way for someone like me is to go get my masters. A masters I don't need at the slightest (this is how a much less skilled colleague got a job at a big tech company in the US, by getting into an expensive private college and graduating honors). FUCK the corporate world, fuck the college industry, and fuck the pretentious fucks that I will have to deal with when presenting my useless masters research before I get the useless certificate stamped by the signature of another pretentious fuck declaring me as an honors graduate.

AND then, I will have earned the right to go get underpaid and fucked by the corporate world. My skin crawls when people describe themselves as professionals, as if it is some title that demands respect presents class.

It's a pitiful rant, but oh well. I have been wanting to get this off my chest for a while. A huge portion of the corporate world are middle-aged fucks who want to ensure their kids have the same life they did. They take care of each other, if you will. And then there's us, who needs to work 500% times harder to get jobs. Oh well.
