Joe Biden said mass shootings tripled when the assault weapon ban ended. They did

You are going off of emotion rather than stats. If you cared about stats you would push for a ban on all guns. These stats are back from 2020, but rifles account for a very small portion of the total deaths. Also, gun deaths are down since the 70s. In 70s it was 7.2 people per 100k and it’s around 6.2 per 100K people. I’m not saying there isn’t a problem but if you look at the stats there is not a huge jump in gun violence from previous years. I’m curious what you think the logical solution is. You seem like a bright person so you know that criminals do not follow laws and regulations.

“In 2020, handguns were involved in 59% of the 13,620 U.S. gun murders and non-negligent manslaughters for which data is available, according to the FBI. Rifles – the category that includes guns sometimes referred to as “assault weapons” – were involved in 3% of firearm murders. Shotguns were involved in 1%. The remainder of gun homicides and non-negligent manslaughters (36%) involved other kinds of firearms or those classified as “type not stated.”
