but he has every right as a spokesperson and an author to go on holiday, and he can, once again, publicly announce this so there's no confusion.

He certainly has the right. We're just saying that there are substantial risks from exercising that right due to the public conflict he's embroiled in. He's not employed to Tweet specifically, but Twitter is one of the largest social media platforms. I'd argue it's very important for someone who makes a living by having a reputation for being relevant, insightful, intelligent to maintain that. If the editor of Vox is threatening that reputation on Twitter, removing Twitter for 2 weeks might not be the move.
