Yes that's a reasonable inferrence based on the comments in this thread and in a linked subreddit called like collapse or something. Someone was saying in a scale of quality of living the USA should be reduced as the developing world is intentionally increased, therefore reducing emissions and creating equity.

That's not only ineffective but it's also patently immoral if you are even tangentially a believer in Kant's ideas. No one should be "dragged down." Everyone should be raised up.

Also I do believe seriously that nuclear power is the solution to warming and that the people who say carbon and ch4 capture take more energy than its worth are correct - for now. However with the abundance of energy if we exploit fission, we will have ample energy to power our industry and transportation and residences, AND capture carbon at a prodigious and helpful rate. And that's to say nothing about possible fusion reactors.
