Joe Scarborough: "Young men in the 1940s liberated Europe from Nazism and the Pacific from the Japanese Empire. Today, too many stay home playing video games." So the 100's of thousands of men that volunteered and 7200+ that died in Afghanistan and Iraq don't count? When did you serve, Joe?

I think he does have a point in that modern males' values are less oriented towards duty and country, and more towards self enjoyment. But what reason is there for them to be involved in their country? Modern society doesn't have any serious draw, it doesn't compel people to love or protect it, especially not men.

We don't learn about our heroes. We don't learn about our victories. We don't learn about all the times the West prevailed against incredible odds. We don't learn that our historic enemies still exist, and we still need to fight them. We have no pride, no future, our history has been half erased and twisted to leave only our mistakes, and to make grey issues into evil caricatures. On the rare occasion we are taught something that's supposed to be good, it's taught in a droning, methodical way, where you don't need to actually understand it or what it meant to us, you just need to memorize the date and the name to pass a test.

Men are told they should protect and elevate women- and this is our natural feeling. But whereas men should get appreciation and respect in return, they instead are beaten to a pulp by a media and society that hates them and wishes they were women instead. They can only put up with it for so many years, until they/we check out and decide to abandon women and families. In the most extreme cases they flat out try to become women, which is the reason the transgender rate of men transitioning to women is so much higher than women transitioning to men, especially among children.

As the younger generation gets older with nothing to be proud of and no hope for a good family of their own, it's hard to blame them for withdrawing. In fact, the people who still have the guts to join the military in the state our country is in now, are heroes. They have every incentive to shut down- and they choose to serve and sacrifice anyway. It's admirable.
