John Carmack on Overwatch

What a dumb fucking take, as someone who typically played games that required almost no to little team effort. Playing with a team is much more difficult since there are way more things that can go wrong. Non-team-based games are easier to win if you are good at the game than team based ones.

The reason Quake "tends to more blow outs" is because there was no matchmaking for those games. Someone who has been playing for years can face someone who just installed the game.

I find it surprising that he singles out overwatch as if things like csgo or rb6 are also team-based. But bringing out cs would defeat his boomer participation trophy narrative since the game or versions of it have been out for a long time.

I mean when you work in things like VR, these are the dumb statements that you might make.
