John McCain: The Iraq War was a mistake

That’s what Bill Clinton said when he called for regime change in 1998 after all senators including Bernie Sanders signed off on regime change as official policy of the United States. The Iraqi people cheered and greeted us as liberators, they flooded into the streets and we took down Saddam’s statues with them. One of the greatest moments of human freedom. And today they have a functioning democracy and own their own oil and don’t have a dictator owning them and putting them in a concentration camp (Iraq under Saddam)

Sorry, that sounds pretty absurd to me.

Saddam Hussein was terrible, but nearly 1 million people have died and the Middle east has turned from a dictator run predictable place into a fireball of terrorism and failed states thanks to the Iraq invasion.
