John Stockton's Dominance

I've seen you around lately and man oh man aren't your posts usually a sight for sore eyes. I feel like every time these discussions crop up I often have to actually convince people that Oscar Robertson belongs higher on the all time list than Stockton. Oscar Robertson!! Who many from back in the day literally considered they best they had ever seen.

I don't even bother with arguing for Isiah because all that will happen is I'll get a bunch of numbers regurgitated at me by people who never actually bothered watching these players play, then I'll bring up leadership, culture, post season heroics and they'll dismiss me because NUMBERS LOL. If you tried telling someone who actually watched them play that Stockton is the better player because he has the gaudier numbers they would laugh in your face.

I swear it's like, not only do people on this forum not know anything about NBA history, they don't even have ANY level of respect for it for the most part, and guys who actually watched and prop up the legends from their time become "grumpy old man yells at cloud L0L". I've had countless people tell me that yes, MJ was great but he was also a media fabrication. Like, do they not realize that if the media was capable of simply fabricating such a legendary player, they would have done it before, and they would do it again, because of the unfathomable amount of money he generated for everyone involved?

Anyway man I'm done ranting lemme just say that it's good to see someone else fighting the good fight against the so called analytics crowd. Not that I think there's anything wrong with analytics per se but they're NOT the end all be all, especially when applied to players the analyst has literally never watched play outside a 5 minute youtube clip, and knows nothing of their careers other than baksetball-reference.com.
