It is designed to shift the conversation BACK TO BATHROOMS, where well-meaning people who've never met a trans person in their life can say things like "well, I mean its just common sense that people use their biological bathrooms, I mean, I wouldn't want some rapist to rape my children in the bathroom" "Oh yes of course and we wouldn't want some rapist to rape our soldiers in the foxholes."

So the rest of us have to suddenly go back to fighting those parochial "COMMEN CENTSS" viewpoints and the conversation gets shifted from trump russia and the meltdown of the administration as the top story to the fucking bathroom issue.

Its not policy, its not strategy-- its meant to demonize a small demographic for a temporary lessening of pressure.

So personally, I think the tweet is terrific! More hard evidence that the entire executive branch is completely dysfunctional. The tweet will probably never become policy-- just another campaign promise stuck in the courts for eternity, riling up the ever dwindling base.
