Jon Bernthal to his "alt-right" Punisher fans: "Fuck them"

Of all the changes made to various franchises over the decades, nothing seems to upset the culture more than changing the skin color.

If you look at discussion about the change of literally anything in a comic you will find fans bitching about it. (because if there is one thing comic-fans love more than reading comics it's bitching about them)

The way it normally goes is that something is announced, people bitch about it incessantly, and then it will either turn out to be good and people will quietly stop bitching and forget they ever did as they start to like it, or it will turn out to be bad and they will feel vindicated and continue hating it. This repeats ad nauseam for literally any detail you can imagine. (up to and including changing a characters eye coloring).

Superman losing the red and blue?

This has happened a couple of times, and almost every time it has resulted in some level of upset.

Remember Blue (and Red) Superman? People absolutely hated that shit.

Remember when they removed supermans trunks and people got upset about that? I still say that it's horrible, the lack of the iconic piece both makes it look more generic, AND draws the eye directly to the groin. Awful.

Captain America is actually a Nazi? Debatable.

I have not met a single person that liked this. Everyone I have heard speak about it hates it. The closest to liking it anyone gets is acknowledging it as a cash-grab to draw people in that will inevitably get reversed with zero true consequence.

The punisher is black? GTFO!

The Punisher being black was a completely unnecessary and really weird storyline. It's not even like they made a new character, they literally just made Frank Castle black, and even then only for a few issues.

Also nobody really complained about this anyway. The comic came out nearly three decades ago, and it was not a major event or character introduction or anything, just a minor plotline in a C-Tier (if that) series that ran for a few weeks before returning to the status quo. I would be surprised if many people even knew it happened in the first place.
