Jordan Peterson, what do you think of this?

Makes sense that higher IQ correlates with higher competency. So it shouldn't be surprising when a group that averages higher in IQ is more able to climb competency structures.

If everyone was equal, the over-representation of Jews would have to be a plot - so that's what some people see.

There's also existing examples of preferential in-group selection in business. Now I don't know if Jews engage in this but I know some Mormons do. Many groups self select and its easy to see why - your group raises in status overall in the long run faster than if it doesn't self select and you get to feel good about helping your neighbor.

Now, controversial point to be made. If a group IS more intelligent on average why wouldn't they self select knowing that in the balance of averages self selecting results in better selection overall? Why risk selecting from a pool that averages lower?

Honestly, I think it's a positive feedback loop. They're at the top because they're competent enough to be there, and their presence at the top creates a preferential bias in their favor. But I don't see evidence of keeping others out. I've never heard of a Nobel laureate saying to a nominee "You would have won, if only you were a Jew." So good for them, being at the top and not pulling up the ladder behind themselves.
