Josh Brolin thinks the Russos Bros will be done with the MCU after Avengers 4.

Then what would RAW-LY allude to? More and more directors recently have been given more freedom as time goes on. Recent movies suggests this. People who have seen Ragnarok point out how it feels exactly like a Taika Waititi movie. People who have seen the movie have said some out there may not like humor and style if they are not aware of Taika’s previous work. It’s very much his movie.

Ryan Coogler only signed on to Black Panther on one condition...he gets as much freedom as he wants. He was even allowed to hire his own editing team he’s used on his previous films, something no other director was allowed.

It’s not crazy to suggest Feige allowed the Russo brothers the same treatment. Yeah, the comment does imply these films would never be made again, and it’s like a one and done deal. Whose to say Feige actually allowed them to be a little more creativity and freedom BECAUSE there will be no movies like these again, possibly for a very long time?

It’s like an athletic, workout freak finally having a cheat day. When he/she finally decides to eat some junk food, they allow themselves way more freedom and less restrictions to eat whatever they want, because they know they won’t be doing this again for a long time. Maybe that’s the mindset with these films.

Besides, if you read my comment above with another guy, there is a scene in the leaked footage of Thor getting his head crushed and he’s spitting out blood. And that’s just one tiny ass moment. That’s pushing the boundaries of PG-13. Virtually all of the most violent/intense action sequences in all of the MCU have come from the Russo brothers movies.

This is Thanos, a VERY violent character in the comic books. Maybe the Russo brothers want to be as accurate as possible within PG-13 range, and Feige allowed that.
