Just one of the cruel ironies of this situation is that Like Clockwork never really resonated with me as a fan because I had no real reference to what had happened outside of his near death experience. Now it's all too painfully real and feels like Josh from 7 years ago is talking to me/us now. It sadly all makes sense.

I obviously can't really speak of their relationship prior, but one of the other cruel ironies is it all seemed to be going very well for them until... it didn't. The past few years they had their third kid, he basically committed to her in song on Villains, and then literally recommitted to her in December 2018. He spoke of their shared future promoting DS and of him going into a new phase in his career spending more time with his family and less on the road. Then in October shit started to hit the fan. She was on the road and he fucked up. It's such a bummer. And despite some concerted efforts a really beautiful thing has fallen apart. Silence is closer. Passing ships in the night.
