This is because you'll never know when they lost your marriage certificate for the second time and need a new copy , or need you to come to some facility hours away to get your fingerprints taken a third time.

Now, we decided to go "legally" because my wife is Canadian and they have this fetish for doing things by the book, but the truth is, had she just lied and illegally entered on a tourist visa with intent to marry (as opposed to the k1 visa) then literally none of that shit would be required.
