Joyner Lucas - I'm Not Racist | DEHH Convo

I know that people who are abusive, racially or sexually KNOW what they are doing is wrong

Is this not part of the point of the video though? That not everyone who is racist is aware of it? Thus the repetition of "I'm not racist" throughout the song? Obviously if you look at the extreme example of someone willing to scream the n word at a minority will likely know what they're doing is seen as wrong, but I personally know many people who I know hold some form of prejudice, but sincerely would not consider themselves racist.

As far as putting it on the victims, I wasn't implying it's the victims jobs to correct the behaviour of their oppressors, and I really don't think thats what the video was trying to say at all either. I think it's everyone's jobs to correct this behaviour. Obviously the video went with extremes because it makes for a more impactful video. And saying racism is common is in no way, shape or form "erasing consequences".

I appreciate your perspectives though, I just don't think we quite see eye to eye but that's ok too.
