What are the basic rules of NFL football?

Any tips for a new fan?

Just watch a lot and keep doing research. The game gets so much better when you're in the loop. Especially get to know the Eagles. Our fans are extremely passionate and you'll do great if you know your stuff!

Best and worst teams?

Best teams last year were the New England Patriots (they have been at or near the top for years) and the Seattle Seahawks (they're the new top team around the league, likely to be a competitor for a while). Honorable mentions would be the Green Bay Packers (their QB was the MVP last year), Indianapolis Colts (they have a star young gun QB), and the Eagles obviously because we're always the best.

A short summary of the Eagles players?

Well that's tough because we have a lot of players. Our defense has a great front 7 which means we are good at rushing the passer, our secondary or pass protection unit was awful last year but we're getting better, our offensive Line is top notch so they are good at helping the run and protecting the QB, our running backs are among the best in the league, and our QB is the former number 1 prospect from college football but he has had a tough time with injuries.

Why is everyone freaking out right now?

Chip Kelly. Our head coach and as of late he is our GM. He's being a crazy son of a bitch this offseason making trades and signings and it's just been crazy. We (almost) all love him though.

Who are DeMarco Murray and LeSean McCoy?

DeMarco is our new running back. Last years' Offensive Player of the Year, he is a great addition. Even better, he ditched our top rivals, the Dallas Cowboys, to come to Philadelphia. LeSean was our old running back. One of the best in the league over the past 5 years. He is our franchise leading rusher but we traded him to the Buffalo Bills for a young linebacker because his contract was not good for the team.

Who is Marcus Mariotta?

Thw QB for the Universuty of Oregon. Best player in college football last year and considered a top prospect for the NFL draft. Chip Kelly, our head coach, used to coach at Oregon and Mariota is the best player to ever play in the system that Kelly created. People wanted the Eagles to get him because many believe he would fit like a glove, but our recent trade for Sam Bradford has put away those rumors for now.

None of my friends liked the Foles for Bradford trade, what do you guys think?

I like it. Foles was bad last year. He had one good string of games in 2013 but I think he was the beneficiary of a system. Bradford is more talented.

A few people have said that the Eagles are in for a rebuild, is this true?

Ehh, not really. I think we have a good shot at the playoffs next year. We are "rebuilding" in that we've switched up a lot of players, but I think we've actually improved because of it.

What NHL team would you compare the Eagles to?

Hmm, maybe the Canucks? We have a good team a lot of the time (I think the Canucks have been like that recently) but we haven't ever won the big one.
