Jury Reaches Verdict in Yanez Trial

I'm sure I'll just get downvoted for it but here's the defense. Castile said he had a firearm and immediately started reaching for his wallet. Yanez told him to stop and show his hands. Castile did not stop (this is why the marijuana thing is part of the testimony - the prosecution alleges that the reason Castile did not stop moving was because he was high on marijuana, and that if he had sober, he would have been more likely to comply with the order). Then Yanez shot him as Castile was pulling out his wallet. It's reasonable given Castile's actions that Yanez thought Castile was reaching for his gun and not his wallet. Yes, it is best to disclose to a police that you have a firearm. However, Castile could have presented this information in a less casual way. He should have said "I have a permit to carry a firearm, and there is one currently in the car, it's in the glovebox" and then stopped moving until the officer gave him further instructions. Instead he reached for something out of sight, immediately after disclosing that he had a firearm, and ignored the officer's commands to stop moving. Those 3 actions combined create a threatening scenario.
