Just acquired a PS3 and these games! What game should I start with!?!

Warning! Long Read

  1. Completely lacking in the "Interactive Storytelling" department. There are no factors to determine what ending you get until the last 20 minutes of the game, and the few choices you actually get to make are pointless and inconsequential (except for sleeping w/ Ryan if you get caught trying to go to the bar but Ryan was an asshole even before that mission went down so you'll forgive me if I don't see that as being offered variety) such as deciding what to wear to a date, or getting revenge on teenagers who were mean to you (which I'll admit was satisfying but don't you think there should be a consequence for burning down someone's house? Oh sure Dawkins will bring it up as a reminder if you get caught possessing the black dude who's name I don't remember but "unique dialogue" to me is not enough to make me feel like my role mattered), choking Jodie's non-biological father, and giving up information to the Japanese soldier. None of those things mattered the slightest bit. It made me wonder why they even bothered to put in a dialogue tree.

2.The QTE system they used was a step in the wrong direction. The slow-motion mechanic made it unclear at times what direction you were supposed to move the analogue stick in. Even if this issue didn't exist it's still less immersive than being given a button prompt since it at least doesn't slow down the animation every few seconds for you to react.

  1. Most of the chapters were not only boring, but pointless. I understand having filler for the sake of character-development but since there really wasn't any for Jodie (apart from physical aging) it just bored me to tears. Remember that mission you did where you had to get documents while at a mansion? There was absolutely no reason for that to be in the game. I found myself saying that about a bunch of chapters in this game too but I felt the C.I.A mansion mission was the best example. Despite a couple of good moments in the storyline (Homeless Chapter, military mission) based on how the majority of the game it feels like until the last couple chapters in the timeline it was just a teenager (and sometimes child) just doing random stuff for no reason.

  2. Why did they not have the timeline go in order? It's not like most of those chapters mattered anyway? I guess they were worried I'd be bored for a longer period of time if they didn't shuffle the order like a deck of cards. Even in the end when all the spaces are filled in I don't see what purpose it served. "Hey your training in the C.I.A, now your'e homeless, now your'e doing farm work in the desert, and getting harassed by people at bar, now your'e being yelled at by some guy who's forcing to work with the C.I.A. What's that? We're on a date with him now and Jodie says to Aiden "I happen to think Ryan is great!"? Well that's just perfect. It wasn't intriguing to me to have the story shift around the timeline it was just frustrating even after I finished the game.

  3. The story just wasn't engaging to me. In my opinion whether it's in TV shows, movies, or video games, any story that takes a focus on supernatural elements just seems to get sloppy. I had a feeling that they were going to spell everything out about "How is this ghost attached to you?" so I didn't exactly bother to think about it. The only times where I was interested in what was happening was in the homeless chapter, and the military chapter where you befriend the kid for a bit. I didn't care about Dawkin's clearly forced mental breakdown due to his depression, I didn't care about Jodie crying whenever the game tries to be sad (Except for the previously mentioned military mission since that was a real "Oh Shit" moment for me). That my last serious reason as to why I didn't like it.

  4. They hinted at a sequel. Just NO!
