Is this just autotune on this vocal, or something else?

You misunderstand me friend. My comment was referring to the mumble rap that has taken over Americas mainstream. I am well aware there are some outliers in the mainstream, as well as many many many highly skilled underground artists in America, as I am well tuned to that scene as well. Understand when I say mainstream, I don't mean rappers with large followings, I mean rappers who consistently get 10-50m+ views per video with ease. The point I was making is that mainstream German Rap has evolved beyond mainstream American rap in terms of actual rap skill progressing with modern producing techniques.

If you like underground rap styles, you may especially like the German Rapper Kollegah. He has a highly controlled flow and incredible wordplay/punchlines(if you translate his lyrics) - you'd probably find it nice to see that someone who would probably be stuck as an underground rapper in America is one of Germany's biggest platinum selling rappers. His last Album, JBG3, had 9 songs on the top 10 charts in Europe; pretty much exclusively consisting of complicated wordplay and incredible flow control. The first song is from his JBG3 album (platinum), and the latter 2 are from his previous album King (also platinum)

The Mainstream German Scene is dominated by rappers like this who pride themselves on lyricism and advanced rapping skill.
