Just bought MS office 2021 but can not install in to Catalina - one needs OS 11 for that. Ok, so I wanted to downgrade to office 2019, but have seen that office 2019 is also only available for os 11. Is there a workaround to use my legal software?

How to install Office 2021 on Catalina:

Open a Microsoft support ticket and kindly ask the representative for an URL download link to a previous version of Office 2021 which was working on Catalina.

The link should look like this: https://officecdn.microsoft.com/pr/C1297A47-86C4-4C1F-97FA-950631F94777/MacAutoupdate/Microsoft_Office_16.30.19101301_BusinessPro_Installer.pkg

The Microsoft representative I just contacted provided me with an URL for Microsoft_Office_16.50.21061301_Installer.pkg which allowed to install Office 2021 Home & Student on Catalina v10.15.7.

Once the installation of the .pkg has completed, just update Microsoft AutoUpdate and then also update your Microsoft softwares (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, etc...) to the latest version which was 16.66.22101101 in my case for all these softwares.

Only after updating Office 2021 softwares to version 16.66.22101101 will you be able to activate your products on Catalina.

Can you install / activate Office 2021 on Catalina now that Ventura has been released : YES !
