Just want to feel capable of normal life

I just turned 29, add case to the core.

It sucks, it fucks up everything but once you start developing strategies and realizing what is realistic and focusing your energy there it actually becomes much easier.

Clean home LOL yeah right. My house gets a DEEP cleaning. 3 days later looks like a literal crack den minus the crack.

I decided fuckit, I'm just going to focus on keeping only the floors clean. I got a $200 robot vacuum and he does his thing every day. It's a pleasing ritual.

Forgetting to do stuff? Went to the dollar store, bought a pack of dry erase markers and went to home Depot to find material I can use for a white board. Made one wall just white boards that get erased once a week no matter what. Costed $40. Set a Google calendar reminder. Infact set calendar reminder that repeat monthly, daily, weekly, yearly for everything. EVERYTHING!

Got a notebook to write everything down. Use my InkPad app to make checklists. You can reuse many. Travel checklist so you don't forget stuff, checklist for leaving hotels, lists of services you use with contact info and addresses and so on.

YouTube, Google and ADHD subreddit. Learn all the ways you can do things more efficiently.

Can't read a book? Download audible or librivox. Book too slow? Try 2x speed. Book too fast? Try .5.

Bottom line is probably what a doctor would say. You need to develop your own coping strategies to deal with it.

It's hard, it sucks but once you get rolling it snowballs quick. Just as quick as it spirals downwards.

I also picked up the guitar maybe 2 years ago. Very relaxing after the first 4 months. Just grabbed a $50 acoustic and gives you something to do.

And for finances, use a spreadsheet. You probably will neglect this but do it. Very important.

In the end, I can function on par or even better at many things than others. Add can be quite useful for certain tasks, jobs and hobbies.

But accept the things you suck at. My place will never be clean as the next guys but now if people come over I just say, oh sorry I didn't clean and it's somewhat passable to a lot of people.
