Just finished school for nursing and I'm going to become a travel nurse. Thinking about seriously buying an rv and traveling/living place to place that way. Any advice or warnings? Maybe anyone wanna talk me out of it lol?

Congratulations! My sister is a nurse and I know what an effort it took for her to get her RN.

As for your RV, location is going to have a lot to do with what your needs will be. Winter can be tough on RV's. Freezing temps can cause problems unless your RV is prepared for it. Sites may also become harder to find as they will need to be winterized as well. Southern climates get pretty hot in the summer, so you will need a decent AC unit to keep it cool. Size is also going to be a consideration. You want something big enough to be comfortable in and store all your stuff, but easy enough to drive and maintain. If you get a trailer, you need to have something large enough to tow it. We have a 24' class C that fits our needs. Might be a bit small to live in though, but that is just me. Some people like it cozy. Be honest with yourself with how much space you need to live in. RV's tend to be cramped.

Do keep in mind that RV's usually require a fair amount of maintenance, so it does help to be handy with a wrench, flex tape and other basic tools. You will need to become (...is it too strong to say intimately?) familiar with the septic and fresh water systems.

I would highly recommend visiting an RV dealership if at all possible. We spent several hours looking at different models and floor plans to help us figure out what we wanted. Even if you buy used, it will be helpful to know what you are looking for.

Best of luck!
