The problem is that after the Democrat racists of the 60's lost the Civil Rights Battle they abandoned the party for the Republican party Southern Strategy and the load of bullshit Nixon sold them and the rest of the republicans. This is literally the moment the Republican party started using Racism and "us against them" to stay relevant, and they are still doing it today.

I'm not saying all republicans are racist, I am saying Republican politicians use white southern racists to stay in power, just like evangelicals (which are often one and the same).

Anyone looking at an electoral college map from 1860-1960 and compare it to 1964 forward will see it clear as day, with few exceptions. When asked about the flip it will without a doubt be explained as being in favor of "small government", which means government staying out of telling me who they can let sit at their diner counter or use my "good" bathroom.
