Just getting back into the game and Im a bit lost.

Expect more kicks in the gut.

Kick 1) Absolutely random drops. You experienced this as a "Forever 29".

Kick 2) Giving away light 30 and higher armor from vendors. You experienced this.

Kick 3) Resetting all of our experience & time on exotics when the first DLC dropped.

Kick 4) All print material referenced a "new raid" for HoW, but that was scrapped. Hundreds of thousands of people pre-ordered but forgot about this. No class-action lawsuit to hold them accountable.

Kick 5) All weapons and armor will become obsolete with the 3rd DLC (TTK). Exotics may survive, but it's not absolutely confirmed yet.

Kick 6) Vault space has not been fixed, save for a minor bump. The current solution is a change in the core philosophy of the game: "Delete your weapons because we can't fix the vault space yet."

Future kicks: When TTK DLC drops, we will be encouraged to dismantle our weapons to make space for new ones. However, a Christmas update or 4th DLC update will most likely introduce upgraded raids and end-game content, an expanded vault, and a method to upgrade old year-1 weapons for those who didn't dismantle them. Bungie will play the "good guy", stating, "We listened to you! We know you wanted those Fatebringers and Vision of Confluences at the new attack level, so we're now allowing you to upgrade them! If you had the misfortune of dismantling them, we've updated the raids so you can play them again, but this time they'll drop the higher-attack rating loot! See, we're a fantastic company, listening to your suggestions!"

In summary, if you want to get back into Destiny, wait until next month after the DLC comes out.
