Just got prescribed Topamax, I'm scared?

I've been on topamax for about a year. It genuinely helps my migraines. Every other drug gave me horrible side effects and usually was not helpful in preventing my migraines. I stuck through the first 2 months of topamax and the mind fog was gone. After 2 months, tingliness in my fingers and toes went away. I have no issues with mental cloudiness or tingliness now, but I have slimmed down a bit from this medication, and it lasts. I suggest trying it, and try to stick through the side effects, and if they truly disturb your life or if they don't go away in about 2 months, then reconsider discontinuing. Side effects can be scary, but stay informed about your medications is important. Topamax did wonders for me, I wish you luck with your migraines, it's hard.
