Just Heard a Gun Sale at a Cafe in Kensington. Did I do the right thing calling the Police?

I think it was okay to call and ask. A few years ago, I noticed a vehicle across from my street where there was a guy sitting in the cab of a truck with a camper on the back. He sat outside an elementary school yard from 11 am to 3 pm. Windows were rolled up, vehicle was not turned on (no AC) and it didn’t move. It was +30 degrees that days

I didn’t spend time looking to find out if it was illegal to park in front of an elementary school for 4 hours. I just found it to be a very odd occurrence since I’ve lived here for years, working from home and had never seen a person in an old banged up vehicle parking in front of the school yard. I didn’t spend the day watching, but the vehicle hadn’t moved. When I left my home at 3, the driver was driving in front of me and I took down the plates and called the non emergency line.

I can’t imagine the backlash if I had posted this experience on Reddit back then.
