Just me or are most financial advisors simply salesmen trying to sell financial products?

I personally hated that stupid-ass “Dream Book” my former financial advisor would have me and my wife fill out in front of them. “Dream Big, and we’ll save for it, manage for it” I’m sitting there like “MF, you guys cost $150/mo and we already aren’t wealthy to begin with, second, traveling around the U.S. in a slipstream and camping wherever is a big enough dream, TF do you know?” I left and went to another company that does the managing with 75% less BS. I know that dream book is meant for visualizing and setting priorities, but what if you know what those are? Is there anything else to sell when your employer’s plan can pretty much do the same w/o dream books? Yes.
