Is it just me?? The Moms&Wine Thing

I'm a 23 year old CF male. I don't drink, because I've had some pretty shitty encounters with people who do, thus cementing my decision. My dad chose the bottle over my brother and I, having had drinking problems for years before the divorce. My neighbors would get into screaming fits with their alcoholic son. Still do. A family friend I've known since birth stumbled into my house pretty drunk and started arguing with my mom, and I had to corral my brother upstairs for a good hour until my friend left. (He's better now and has apologized.) My girlfriend drank a good amount of vodka one night. She and I sat in the bathroom for a good two hours because she felt she was going to get really sick, whilst trying to hide it from her oblivious father. (She hasn't drank since, mostly due to having an IUD put in.) The "wine/alcohol culture" really pisses me off, in general. But, if a parent needs alcohol, hell, if they feel that they need any substance or pill to cope with shitty kids, maybe they shouldn't have kids in the first place.
