I just missed a call from my mom, "Don't worry everything is OK but call me back when you can." -My dad has skin cancer on his face and is getting mohs surgery...

I do not and have never! I'd like to think smoking is a generational thing that didn't pick up with my generation. None of my 4 siblings smoke! He is actually my step dad but he has been my father since i was 1, regardless i don't think there is a genetic concern for me.

I think what is really frustrating to me was i was the one at the beach every day with no sunscreen (grew up in florida) our entire lives. He was in the navy but below deck and is now a cop but works in an office. I used to surf and put like 9 layers of sunburn on top of each other at a time. Then i became a marine and continued to be outside before moving to california where i live.. I always thought and we would joke that i would be the one to get skin cancer..

Anyway thank you for your kind words. In light of this "good" news i'm hearing it is just making me want to pressure him more before it gets more serious but i don't know the right time to tell him. Hell he doesn't even know that i know right now.
