I just needed to go to Lowe’s....

True, but just because of his belief doesn't mean you can go assault him, or vandalize his property. Everyone seems to think the consequences can include those actions, SORRY they can't.

I believe I can walk past the most hateful person in history, but that doesn't give me the right to assault them or damage their property. Can I say something, yes, but even then it does not good to just call them names, while a verbal assault might be allowed by law, it really is just stupid.

For example, I think abortion is wrong, you will never change my opinion, people are killing a baby. Equally, I agree a women has the rights to her body, so I won't vote to make abortion illegal or charge the women with murder. But my house, car, person, etc. should all be safe when I openly express this opinion. Yes someone can say I disagree with that or my opinion is stupid, but sorry, I shouldn't have any of the other threats of consequences against me.

Honestly, everyone here saying I have to accept consequences is only going to lead to a more radical right coming out. You can't keep threatening consequences to people's opinions and not expect radicalism. Read history, it has never worked. Education and tolerance (even when you hate the other side) has always worked way better.
