Just out of curiosity, is there anyone here who will be buying the Caucasus Retexture?

I hope some people are kidding with their reactions in the community (not just here). It's not a cash grab, it's not an effort to divide the community, it's not "bullshit". This is a niche genre and it's not a moneymaker like mainstream stuff. If money doesn't come in, the sim and development of it halts. It's worth supporting for the small cut of the 15 bucks ED gets if nothing else.

Some days I spend more than that on lunch or dinner. The flight simulator part of PC gaming is anemic as fuck. It's a small base. They put out modules/content on a very slow schedule, I've already bought everything else (even some things I know I'll never touch like the Hawk, P-51, 101, or the Nevada map) and I'll buy this too. I'll support them how I can, whenever I can. I want the game to continue, I want potential developers who look at branching to DCS to see that the community is hungry and supportive, I want it to grow. Even if some of the things that have come out and are coming soon are not things I'm wildly into, it's content.

Plus as many hours as I get out of DCS, it only feels fair. Like I said, I can't entertain myself on a night out for $15 bucks, a night out with friends or family can be $60+, and those are just short, temporary things. It's worth it on something I get hundreds of hours out of for as long into the future as I want.

TL;DR - At the end of the day, content brings players. The game needs players. I realize that textures are not the kind of content that brings flocks of people, but it's content that helps support the game, and every bit of support for developers is a positive sign to potential developers that may bring in who knows what. Not everyone can afford to buy everything put out or wants to, I get that, but it's hardly worth backlashing over like some have been doing around he web, and all that behavior serves to do is put off potential developers, or even current ones.
