Just overheard that 60 hour minimum billable hours started this week... my last week at the firm ✌️

No worries! Time entry is the bane of my existence, billable hours means hours you have to be able to tie to time spent working on client work, not admin. So like trial balance entry, audit procedures, tax prep, client/planning meetings, etc. So anything extra doesn't count towards your minimum hours (CPE's, scheduling meetings, typical admin drudgery, taking a 30 minute coffee/shit break), which realistically translates to 11 hours per day of straight work (12 including sanity breaks) Monday-Friday with a half day on Saturday.

This also means that your manager can ding you on lack of productivity, since every minute of your day is theoretically tracked. If you charge more time than PY to any particular section or go over budget, you'll have to explain yourself. Likewise, if you don't have enough billable time (client work) to meet the minimum, you're expected to look for work to fill out that time. It's absolutely anxiety inducing and a huge reason why I left.
