Just played my first ranked match. Game needs a report button and better matchmaking.

Its like that in every online competitive game. Other games have report buttons and it still will happen.

I agree, but still. Something is better than nothing.

Everyone thinks everyone is cheating or trolling.

Also agree. It's part of the Online Gaming ExperienceTM, and the only thing I am bitching about is that there's not an in-game way of addressing it. Take DOTA, for example. There are a limited number of reports per period of time a person can submit, and every now and then, you get a message stating that action has been taken against someone that you reported. It doesn't have to be often, and it doesn't have to solve the issue 100%. All I'm saying is that just feeling that you did something, ANYTHING, can be a huge psychological boost, even if the thing you do has no real effect.

They dont allow player drop ins in ranked. So it was a 1/10 fluke and not worthy of your tears.

Willing to let this one go then. I'll still maintain that a surrender option might be nice, but the core issue would be the drop-in to match in progress. But I think we can agree that to have it happen on my first match, even if it is a fluke can be a bad first impression for a new user.

Get friends to play with.

I have one friend who plays, and I just found /r/siegeteams, so I should be good there. I've played several competitive games which rely on teamwork and tactics with friends in the past, and the difference is night and day when compared to playing with pubbers.

Ifthis is happening to you so much maybe you are instagating it?

Only been in one ranked match so far. The point of the post was to outline some less favorable first impressions the game offers to a new player. I'd heard the playerbase was generally pretty welcoming, but that does not seem to be the case. It's fine. I've played games with toxic communities before. I'll continue to be as chill as I can, I was just hoping that what I had heard about the RS6:S community was true. Again, just posting to offer the more established playerbase the impressions of a new player.
